Block Exchange

Quilt Colorado participants are invited to make a block to participate in the block exchange. Everyone who submits a block has a chance to win and take home a set of signed quilt blocks to make a friendship wall quilt as a remembrance of Quilt Colorado 2012.

Everyone who submits a block has a chance to win a set of blocks. You may enter as many blocks as you wish and you may win more than once. Block drawings will be held throughout the event and you need not be present to win.

“Home Town”

Do you want to make your “Home Town” into a quilt block? This is an 8-½ inch square – unfinished. Here are some ideas for your House Blocks!

Reverse your house. Add a steeple, fence, a turret. Have a bell, flag, critters, flowers. Embroider some trees, draw a branch (pigma pen), appliqué a bush. Is it winter? a ranch? a cabin? a village, the seaside? Made of stone, logs, brick. Is it a tent? Have a tile roof, thatch, shingles, sod. Is it pieced, appliquéd, fused, raw edge, embroidered, thread painted. Who’s technique do you want to try? Laura Wasilowski, Freddy Moran, Elly Sienkiewicz, Eleanor Burns or Judith Montano? Or do you want to do your own thing? Come up with your own house! Use these block patterns to appliqué, piece, fuse or foundation piece. Add seam allowances to techniques that require them. Turn your finished block(s) in at the Quilt Show admission table. Each block turned in gives you one chance to win a set of blocks. (BLOCKS MUST BE 8-½” UNFINISHED).
